Handling this busy season…

Friends, it has been busy at my house.  Not necessarily of my own choosing either.  Immediate family members on both sides of the family with medical issues.  Harvest.  Oh, and my outside the home job- well, it has several events over the course of the next three weeks.  (Mostly large events for that matter.)

Add in homeschooling, 4-H (and some upcoming events there) and just making time for family and little fun- well, some days I feel like I’m running on a hamster wheel.

So, how do we do it?  First, I’m a bit (probably too) relaxed on the house right now.  Second, we have been eating out way. too. much.

But how do I make time to do what we need to in this season?

For starters, let’s talk about shopping.  I really haven’t (except for a few fresh items) in about two months.  Between Amazon and Wal-Mart, most of what we need can show up at the front door.  Books for school, many items for 4-H projects or National 4-H Week have been ordered online (sometimes while I eat lunch).

I really have had to just relax about my house.  It’s kind of a mess at the moment.  I’d rather make sure we are finishing our school work than have a perfect house.

As for meals, I have already said It, but we have ate out or had carry out way too much.  We’ve also had some frozen meals.  It’s not my first choice, but it’s the current season.  (But I’m grilling burgers tonight if that counts…)

Finally, we make homeschooling the priority.  We try to get it in each day- if she’s with me, a sitter or wherever.  We have kept up on the schoolwork.  I’ve let other things go…or may not be doing our norm…so school is a priority.  This is what works for us right now.

How do you get through busy or difficult seasons?  I’d love your tips!
